Devachi Bai

In our Menkurem village there is one well called as  Devachi Bai (well of god).which is situated in the heart of menkurem village. And Menkurem village is situated in the Bicholim taluka.

I got these information from my ancestors the great mystery of Devachi Bai. Many years ago these well has been build at the time when the Menkurem village came into existences that time this particular well also occurs. Water from these well specifies as Nhavan or Tirtha. And mystery of Devachi Bai depends on Nhavan(tirtha)

My ancestors says that Nhavan(tirtha) plays an major important role when the person is in critical condition. If the person is suffering from Chicken poks ,Devi. or any other diseases or if the person is bitten by the poisonous snake and if there is no chances from doctor, no hope. Than that particular person had given Nhavan to cover his diseases .But when that person having that tirtha he/she have to be very strict at his/her place meaning that person have to follow particular rules and restrictions for 7 to 8 days, at that time the person who is suffering from diseases is not allow to have non-veg food. He/She can only have Dal bhat or any other dish which has been called as veg. Than that particular person will be fit and fine within 7 to 8 days. Many years ago these happens in my own menkurem village.
